It was summer time and Johnny has decided to give his boys a day off. He arranged an outing for the whole company. The juniors, along with Hey! Say Jump were sent to the pool part of the resort were their managers acted like their life guards. The seniors opted to stay at the bar and have a drinking session. The groups from ARASHI down to KAT-TUN stayed at the beach and enjoyed the sun.

Kame stayed under the umbrella with Ueda. They watched how everyone was having fun. They can see from the pool side that Yamada and Chinen were taking turns riding Takaki's back and the other Hey! Say! members trying to tell them to let Takaki rest for a while. The juniors were harassing the boys from ABC to do some acrobatics in the pool while Kis-my-ft2 laughed at them. Kame remembered how he and Jin were like when they were juniors. He remembered how often he and Jin went to swim. They love the pool. Jin would always look excited whenever he sees the water. He would take off his shirt and then jump into the pool not caring if he's not wearing his swim shorts. Kame who finds it weird could not help himself and would jump right after Jin. They will play in the pool for as long as they wanted not caring how wrinkled their skin gets from staying on the water. Jin would purposely climb onKame’s back and stand on his shoulders though he's the bigger one. He would do a back flip and that would result to Kame being pushed deeper into the water.

One time, when Jin did this, he accidentally kicked Kame on the head and the other became unconscious. Jin hurriedly dived into the water when he realized that Kame wasn't in sight when he resurfaced after the back flip. He pulled Kame out of the water and laid him on the pool side. He desperately tried to wake Kame up but there was no response. Jin was so scared that he started crying for fear of losing Kame. He hugged him tightly and murmured words such as "Please don't leave me. I'm sorry Kame. Wake Up!" Jin hugged him for a long time and pulled back when he realized there was still hope. He fixed Kame's position and brushed away the strands of hair on Kame's face. "Please wake up." Jin prayed. He opened Kame's mouth and performed CPR. He did it over and over again, his tears still flowing while performing it. After sometime, Kame coughed. Jin's face lightened up when Kame slowly opened his eyes. Kame managed to say a weak "Jin?”. When he heard this, Jin immediately hugged him and repeatedly said "Thank You."

Jin said sorry to Kame almost every hour of the day and Kame would just laugh at him. When he got annoyed from all the apologies, he threatened Jin that he won't talk to him unless he stopped saying sorry. Jin would make sure that Kame is always okay and that he always have company. He buys Kame food in between rehearsals and calls him every night to make sure he eats.

Kame can remember that day. The day he asked why Jin was doing all of those stuff. They just finished practice and as usual, Jin took him home. When Jin called him that night, he asked him.

"Jin?"
"Yes Kame?"
"Why do you take care of me? It's not because of what happened before right? I told you I'm fine" Kame said.
"It is because of that Kame."
"Jin, you don't have to. You already said sorry."
"I know but I want to take care of you. When that incident happened, when I saw you unconscious, I was scared. I don't want you to be out of my life and I couldn't bear it if I'm the reason you're not beside me"
"But why? I don't understand."
"I don't have a clear explanation but remember this; you are the person I care for the most in the world. I don't know why but that's what I feel. I don't know what I'll do without you. I promise I’ll always be here to care for you" Jin said.

Hearing those words, Kame can't help but shed a few tears. It was the sweetest thing a person has ever told him.

After that conversation, Kame and Jin became more inseparable. Sometimes, their friends would see Jin holding Kame's hand and Kame would often rest his head on Jin's shoulder to rest. Through their actions, their friends understood. They understood that there's more than friendship between Jin and Kame.

Kame was brought back to reality when Ryo came back to get a beer. Ueda handed him a towel to wipe the water dripping on his face.

"How's the wave?" Ueda asked Ryo
"Wave's awesome. It's fun. Jin's really enjoying."

Kame smiled to hear what Ryo said.

"I can't believe his skills in surfing didn't change though this is the first time he's surfed since he went to America" Ryo said as he gulped down his beer.
"Ryo..." Ueda said as he checked Kame's reaction.
"Oh...sorry. I should go back. They're waiting for me."

Kame nodded. America. Jin got back from America 6 months ago. He spent 6 months there where he studied the English language. Kame remembered the day that Jin told him he was leaving. It was supposed to be a happy day for the two of them. It was the same day that Jin told him he cared for him a few years back. He had a custom made cake for them to share that evening. When he entered the dressing room, the other members were there forming a circle and looking worried. He greeted them with a smile but they just asked him to sit and told him Jin has to say something. Kame looked at them with a puzzled face.

"What is it?" Kame asked Jin who was sitting across him.
"I'm leaving." Jin said
"Vacation?"
"No. I’m going far away."
"Okinawa?"
"No, Kame. I'm leaving. I'm going to America."
"You're kidding right?" Kame asked tears forming on the corner of his eyes.
"Kame, I’m not. I'm leaving. Please don't cry."
"You're leaving! How can I not cry? Are you stupid?" Kame said as tears fell on his cheeks.
"I'm sorry..."
"I thought you care for me?"
"I do, Kame. I care for you."
"Then why are you leaving me?"
"I just, I need to think about my options. I want to think about my future."
"Options? Future? I don't understand! Why do you have to go that far?"
"Kame..."
"Do you know what day it is today?"

Jin shook his head.

"No. What day is it today?" He asked Kame but Kame didn't answer.

Jin looked at the other members trying to ask them if they know anything important. The others shook their heads too.

"What day is it today, Kame? Tell me? Is there something important?" Jin asked

Kame just stared at him and gave a weak smile.

"It's okay if you don't remember." Kame said as he wiped his tears with his hands.

Jin looked at him worriedly. Once he has calmed down,Kame stood up and left the box of cake on the table.

"Good luck on your trip ne? I understand now. It's okay." Kame said as he took his bag.
"Kame? Where are you going? We still have to talk and what is this?" Jin asked pointing at the box.
"No. It's okay. I understand now. I just got carried away. I'm sorry. That's a cake I got on my way here. I was supposed to give it to my mom but you can have it. Think of it as my way of saying congratulations." Kame said and smiled widely. A fake smile.

He felt hurt that night. He was so hurt that he cried himself to sleep. The next morning, he told himself that he would no longer cry. He will not cry when he sees Jin and he won't cry when Jin leaves. He realized last night that Jin has already grown up and the grown up Jin already forgot his promise. Kame sighed. Today is the day that he needs to learn how to get used to Jin not being by his side.

Jin only had a week left before he goes to America and Kame tried his best not to change the way he deals with Jin. He was successful. He still talks and jokes around with Jin. Jin still takes him home after rehearsals and they still eat out during lunch. It was as if the other night happened but what Kame doesn't know, Jin was uneasy because of the way he was acting. Jin wished that Kame would tell him what was wrong.

Jin left for America and T-TUN was there with him at the airport to say their goodbyes. Kame wasn't present because he had a drama shooting that day. Kame purposely asked their manager to transfer his off to another day so that he can work on the day that Jin leaves. He also asked the manager not to tell the others that he changed his day off. He did this because though he promised that he won't cry when Jin leaves, he just can't trust his emotions.

Kame did well when Jin was gone. He worked hard. He accepted every offer that comes his way. Sometimes, T-TUN would tell him to rest but he will just tell them that work is his life and he can't just leave it behind because he has dreams. When he has his off, he goes through his drama scripts. Whenever he doesn't have anything to do, he just remembers Jin and he feels hurt. He kept his promise. He never cried. He just felt sad when Jin comes into his mind.

Kame looked into his calendar. April. It's been six months since Jin left. How time flies he thought. He asked how long would it be 'til Jin comes back.
He felt his phone vibrate and he took it out of his pocket to answer it. It was his manager. He said that someone was at the office to see him and it was a very important person. Kame, thinking that it's one of his bosses, hurriedly went to the office. His manager was outside one of the meeting rooms waiting for him. He asked who was inside to meet him but the manager just said that it's someone really important and that he just needs to get in. Kame understood so he went inside.

He saw a man looking outside the window. A very familiar man.

"Kame. Tadaima."

It was Jin.

"J--Jin?"
"Yes. It's me. I'm back." Jin said.
"S--since when?"
"I arrived this morning."
"Why?"

Kame stood stuck in his place. Jin approached him. When they were face to face, Jin stopped and stared at Kame.

"Jin?" Kame asked again.

Without saying anything, Jin hugged him.

"I'm sorry Kame." Jin said as he tightened his embrace.

Without realizing it, Kame cried.

"Jin? What is it? Why are you saying sorry?" Kame asked

Jin who was also crying just sobbed for a while. Kame embraced him back.

"Kame, I'm so sorry. I understand now. I'm really sorry."

kame broke the embrace and looked at Jin.

"What do you understand?" Kame asked
"That day. The day I told you I was leaving. I know now what day that was. I'm sorry Kame. I forgot. I just realized a few months ago when I felt lonely in America. I realized that that was the day I told you you're the person I cared the most in the world and that I promised you I would always care for you. I'm sorry Kame. I'm sorry." Jin said
"Jin... It's okay. I understand. You have dreams. I won't stop you from reaching them." Kame said.
"I only have one dream left that I haven't reached." Jin said.
"What is it?"
"You. I want you to know that I love you. I care for you and I love you so much. You don't know how painful I felt when I was away from you. Would you help me reach my dream?" Jin asked

Kame smiled.

"Of course. You don't know how much I love you. I love you even before and I was in pain too when you went away."

Jin smiled back and pulled closer and embraced him.

Jin went back to work a few days after and he and Kame were back to normal. They told everyone about them and they gladly accepted their decision but they still consider Jin's hiatus a sensitive topic. T-TUN thought that Jin and Kame doesn't want to talk about that so they stayed away from that topic.

Ueda saw that Kame was in deep thought after what Ryo said so he was concerned.

"Kame, I'm sorry about what Ryo said. He just got carried away." Ueda said

Kame smiled at him

"Tat-chan, it's okay. I want you to know that Jin's hiatus is not a sensitive topic to us as you think."
"Eh?"
"Yes. It's not, okay? It's one thing that made us realize how much we love each other that's why it's okay to talk about it."
"Hmmm? Why? You waited and waited for him. You were in pain during that time." Ueda said.

Kame grabbed a beer and took a sip.

"Tat-chan, somewhere between those heartaches and waiting came the chance to be found by someone who can show me that I don't have to be just an option but the choice. Jin found his love for me when he was away and made his choice of going back here to be with me. For me, that is important." Kame said .

He smiled at Ueda then looked upon his lover and their friends having fun.
